The School of Information Technology at the University of Cape Town is privileged to host the 47th edition of the South African Institute of Computer Scientists and Information Technologists Conference (SAICSIT) in Cape Town, from 13-15 July 2026.

The primary focus of the conference is to bring together researchers, scholars and industry participants to exchange and share their experiences and latest research results in all aspects of Computer Science and Information Systems. Given the recent increased international interest in Artificial Intelligence research and applications, the conference theme for 2026 is: “The Frontiers and Future of Artificial Intelligence in Africa”, where we will engage with research around advancements in artificial intelligence technological innovation across Africa.

Registration fees

* Author registration and payment deadline 27 May 2026.

Registration fee includes: Attendance to the conference (incl. workshop and postgraduate symposium), lunch & tea breaks. Access to the welcome reception and conference dinner.

* Dietary restrictions not included in the registration fee:

Strictly Halaal R350 and Kosher R1800 per person per day.

Additional tickets to the social events can be purchased if you want to bring a partner or friend along.

* Deadline for ordering of SAICSIT 2026 merchandise 22 June 2026. You will receive your order at the conference.

Payment options

All fees are quoted in South African Rands (ZAR) and include 15% VAT.

Credit card payments and bank transfers are accepted.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be emailed to 2026@saicsit.org.

• Before 5 June 2026: No cancellation fee
• Before 22 June 2026: 50% cancellation fee payable
• After 1 July 2026: 100% cancellation fee payable

How to register

Step 1: Choose your ticket

On the right-hand side of the page, select the appropriate registration ticket and click “Get Tickets.”

Step 2: Complete your details

Complete the attendee details page with the required information.

Step 3: Checkout & payment

Proceed to checkout and choose your payment method.

Credit card – If you choose to pay by credit card, you’ll be prompted to complete your payment online immediately.

Bank transfer – If you choose the bank transfer option, you’ll receive an email afterwards with the bank account details needed to pay the registration fee. Once you have done the payment please email proof of payment to 2026@saicsit.org
